Me Talk Pretty One Day

Me Talk Pretty One Day - David Sedaris A collection of bitingly funny essays about growing up, his family, and other topics, "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is hardly news to Sedaris fans (it was published in 2000), but I read it for the first time last week. Sedaris skewers his own efforts to learn French, and his searingly funny "Twelve Moments in the Life of the Artist" -- an egrossing essay mocking his own efforts as a performance artist -- made me laugh out loud. He's hilarious and entertaining without performing too many literary gymnastics -- the mark of a true humorist. Great stuff.
