Old Man's War

Old Man's War - John Scalzi A fun, interesting SF military/space opera in the same vein as Starship Troopers or The Forever War (though not as believable as either). At times there was a hair too much exposition, but the characters were deep enough to remain interesting, though the book lacks the cutting cynicism of Haldeman's Forever War.I believe this was Scalzi's debut novel, and if so, it shows a lot of promise.I read it on an international flight and thought it was perfect for the job -- and despite a few reservations about its believability, decided to download the sequel for the return trip.
