Q and A: The Working Screenwriter: An In-the-Trenches Perspective of Writing Movies in Today's Film Industry

Q and A: The Working Screenwriter: An In-The-Trenches Perspective of Writing Movies in Today's Film Industry - Jim Vines The writer of this book asked the same set of questions to a handful of screenwriters (working at different levels and genres), and the answers varied from inspiring to dull. Naturally, much of the advice offered by one screenwriter conflicts with that offered by others, which isn't terribly unexpected. The answers nicely illustrate the twin facts that there is always more than one way into an industry, and that hard work and persistence often mean as much as talent.Overall, this book will probably prove most useful to novice screenwriters, and some of the more original insights will make it worth the time (I'm not a screenwriter, but a working copywriter who read it on a lark). The answers are often repetitive and wandering, and I wish the editor had done a better job of whittling away the dross.
