It had its moments, but I abandoned this book halfway through. I enjoy satire as much as the next person, but this ultimately became overbearing and flat, never really escaping the most basic level of sarcasm. Simply lampooning popular publishing myths -- consistently adopting a stance opposite of what most know to be true -- was funny at first, then felt smug, and then just became oppressive. This feels like a column stretched out to book length, and I finally decided it wasn't worth my time.
